Homework tips ~
Since learning a language is a gradual process, students will often have a small activity or exercise for homework to practice what they are learning in class. NO late work is accepted!
*If students do not have a written homework assignment, they should study vocabulary and/or notes for at least 15-30 mintues each night. Learning a language is a very gradual and cummulative process, and trying to cram at the last minute will not help them retain the vocabulary!
In order to be sure that they know the vocabulary well, students should be able to look at the English meaning and be able to say/spell the Spanish word or phrase. (Looking at the Spanish and then coming up with the English word does not ensure that the student knows the word/phrase well enough.)
Some useful tools for studying vocabulary may include making flashcards or covering up one column of the vocabulary list and quizzing yourself by either writing or saying the Spanish words. Also students will have a vocabulary assignment due on the website "conjuguemos.com" for each vocabulary unit. A link to the website and instructions on how to set up an account can be found in "Helpful links."
*NEW!! ~ The conjuguemos.com website now has a feature that allows students to study using online flashcards. These cards can also be printed out, if students prefer to study them in that way.
